Named for companionship
Rafiq means companion or friend. The product — and the camel mascot — reflect a simple idea: walk beside teachers, don’t talk down to them.
Almost a decade ago, the three of us; Shereen, Nermeen, and Ahmed met through a shared belief: education can change lives. Guided by that belief, we began working together across a wide range of education projects and programs, from curriculum design, training, and instructional coaching to libraries, community engagement, organizational culture, and beyond.
Over the years, our work took us across different contexts and communities, but the mission remained the same: to create learning experiences and systems that better serve people.
As our questions grew bigger, so did our journey. In 2023, Nermeen pursued her Master’s degree at Harvard University, while Shereen began her PhD at the University of Georgia. We continued learning, researching, and exploring new ways to strengthen education, not as separate paths, but as an extension of the mission that first brought us together.
Today, that journey has led us to build RafiqAI.
We are dreaming beyond a single product. We are building toward a future where professional learning is dynamic, contextual, communal, personalized, and deeply human lifelong journey rather than a one-time intervention. Starting with instructional coaching, we aim to contribute to a more agile education ecosystem where thoughtful human–AI collaboration strengthens how people learn, grow, and lead.
We envision learning institutions as kind and reflective learning organizations, where human wisdom, lived experience, and data come together not in competition, but in partnership to shape the future for education.
